Lace: How it's made
Laces are typically worn by West-African people during celebrations. They are richly embroidered to provide a luxurious, shining look. Each lace has its unique style and can be made from 100% cotton, a cotton-synthetic blend, silk, or other high-quality fibers. Historically, lace was handmade with an open, web-like pattern, but today, it is produced using machines that offer various qualities.
Laces can feature all-over embroidery or delicate, strategically placed designs. High-end materials such as beads, sequins, and other embellishments are used to enhance the luxurious appearance. These materials, along with the embroidery, can be crafted in any colour and quality, including fine cotton yarns or Swarovski beads for a glamorous look.
Jansen Holland's Swiss Voile laces are of the highest quality and are highly sought after in the market. These exclusive designs and embroideries are not commonly found in everyday stores. Our luxury laces are produced by manufacturers in Austria and Switzerland using precise and exclusive embroidery machines. It takes a day to produce just a few meters in one colourway, making these laces exceptionally special.
Types of Laces
Jansen Holland offers a wide variety of laces, styles, designs, and colours. Our main offering is Swiss Voile lace, available in many colours and designs, each richly embroidered and unique. Stocks are limited to ensure exclusivity.
In addition to high-quality Swiss Voile lace, we also offer French Lace, known as Guipure or Coupion. This type of lace features motifs connected with bars or plaits. Another option is organza lace, traditionally made from silk but now also from synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester. These laces are often embroidered all over. We also provide African George laces, a type of silky lace finished with gold yarn embroidery, with rich designs concentrated at the bottom and smaller embroidery at the top. Jansen Holland offers many more lace variations, catering to all price ranges.
